Ethiopia Harrar
Ethiopia is celebrated as the origin of coffee and has a deep-rooted coffee heritage. Our natural process coffee comes from the Oromia area, grown at an elevation of 1400-2700 masl.
In Ethiopia, coffee drinking remains a cherished ritual that brings together family, friends, and community. Traditionally, the eldest woman in the household roasts fresh coffee beans, grinds them, and brews the coffee using a jebena pot. The strong brew is served in small cups and refreshed twice with boiling water, a process lasting about an hour and symbolizing warmth and hospitality.
This coffee comes from one of the world’s genesis homelands of Arabica. In this region, limited access to water means producers rely almost entirely on the natural process. Nearly 90% of Ethiopia’s coffee is grown by smallholder farmers, many working plots smaller than a hectare. By coming together in local groups, they are able to pool their harvests and reach the global market.
