Brazil Minas Gerais
This natural coffee comes from the Carmo de Minas and Minas Gerais regions of Brazil, cultivated on the Santa Ines farms at elevations between 900 and 1050 feet. The Pereira family has been dedicated to coffee growing here since 1979. Upon taking over the 215-hectare Fazenda Santa Ines, they introduced new coffee varieties and modernized farming practices to enhance quality and yield. Facing regional quality challenges, they brought in experts, adopted advanced harvesting and processing methods, and implemented cutting-edge farm technology. These efforts have earned Santa Ines recognition in regional and national competitions, including a first-place win at the 2005 Cup of Excellence Brazil with a record score of 95.85. The farm grows Catucai, Yellow and Red Catuai, Yellow and Red Bourbon, and Acaia across about 100 hectares, with the remainder used for bananas, corn, and dairy cows. Annual coffee production is approximately 4,000 bags. The family believes the region’s favorable soil and climate—its unique "terroir"—promise continued improvement and success.
